Pennies for Patients

Monday was the last day of the Pennies for Patients fundraiser. Our class collected $135.97! Most of that was in coins and we counted it all. The kids learned a lot about identifying the different coins, the value of the coins, and skip counting. The class that collected the most money was given a pizza party. Many of the students in our class were motivated by trying to win it. We were a couple hundred dollars short of winning the pizza party. However, we talked a lot about how our reward is the good feeling you get from knowing that you helped someone else. Our school collected over $4000 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Wow! I am so impressed by the generosity of the kids.
